REV. TOM ATKINS -
After serving as a pastor in the North Georgia Conference for more than two decades, Tom became one of North Georgia’s General Evangelists in 1994.
Since that time, he has preached at revivals, camp meetings, and special services in nearly 30 of the UMC’s annual conferences.
Tom Atkins is also a member of the Francis Asbury Society, founded by former Asbury College president Dennis Kinlaw. The society is a group focused on “liv[ing] and proclaim[ing] the truth that complete Christian salvation involves not only forgiveness but also… transformation through the Holy Spirit’s power.”

REV. JOE GREEN - is a native of Appalachia, Virginia and served 46 years in the Holston United Methodist Conference. This included appointments in Georgia, Virginia and Tennessee, and as a District Superintendent. In 2018 Joe retired from full-time ministry after serving as Senior Pastor for First Broad Street UMC in Kingsport, Tennessee.
Joe was saved and then answered God’s call into pastoral ministry as a senior History major at King College in Bristol, Tennessee. In 1974 he earned a Master of Divinity at Asbury Theological Seminary.
He is married to Beth (a lifelong attendee of Camp Sychar). They are the parents of a daughter, Hannah, who lives in Knoxville with her husband, James Slaughter, and their daughters, Ophelia and Azalea. Joe and Beth Green reside in Maryville, Tennessee.

DR. JOHN JUNEMAN - is an evangelist with a pastor's heart and experience, whose calling is to run the race of faith alongside of churches, groups, and people across North America by going to them where they are, presenting Jesus through His Word, training people in their own study of the Word, and maintaining ongoing relationships. John's primary call to discipleship is with his wife, Trina, and two children, Chaili and Carey.
He graduated from Olivet Nazarene University, Nazarene Theological Seminary, and from Fuller Theological Seminary with the Doctor of Ministry degree in 2004.

TAB BEECHLER - From the time he began pounding out melodies on a blue, battery-operated toy piano at the age of 5, it was clear that God had an extraordinary plan for Tab Beechler’s life. Six recordings and thousands of performances later, Tab is a celebrated pianist/vocalist and seasoned worship leader whose words and music have brought Hope, encouragement and God’s Truth to countless listeners.
Children's Evangelists

Tim and Laura McCoy have previously served as our Children’s Evangelist, from 2004-2014, and returned to lead the team in 2017. They are excited to be back this year to serve your family! Laura is currently the Minister of Children at Reynoldsburg UMC and Tim is on staff in the Episcopal office for the West Ohio Conference of the UMC, as the Episcopal Office Coordinator and the Event Producer for Annual Conference. Tim and Laura both have extensive experience serving, as both staff and volunteers, with children and youth at Stonybrook UMC and Reynoldsburg UMC. Laura has grown up at Camp Sychar and attended most of her life…and Tim has attended, off and on, for most of their married life (going on 31 years), before becoming the Children’s Evangelists full time. They are excited to be a part of the legacy that Camp Sychar instills in the next generation. Tim and Laura live in Reynoldsburg, Ohio with their 2 children: Ryan (23 and a Culinary student at Columbus State Community College) and Owen (17 and a junior at Reynoldsburg High School)

Tiny Tots' Evangelists (Pre K)
Carmalita Tyler and Nicola Clark will be partnering together to lead our Preschool Ministry this year

CARMALITA TYLER -
Carmalita is looking forward to returning to Sychar for her 6th year of teaching with the Tiny Tots. This year, she is excited to share the Good News of Jesus with the little ones - supporting, guiding, and encouraging them to receive His promises for them and to go on and share them with the world. With a Master’s degree in Elementary Education- Carmalita taught for 4 years but is currently working as a Stay-at -home Mom. In less than a year’s time, her family grew from 3 to 5 and with two new additions-she joyfully claims that while her hands are full, her heart is FULLER.
She currently lives in Suffolk, VA with her husband- Jeremy, 3 kids- Madelyn, Ralph, and Tobias, and her in-laws.

Nicola holds a bachelors degree in Finance from The Ohio State University and lives in Pataskala, Ohio with her husband, Drew, their son, John and their dog Lucy.

Gary has a profound grasp of the scriptures spiritually, historically and linguistically.
Disciplined learnedness combined with an undying passion for Christ, a heart bursting with gratitude, yields a most unique combination of relevant wisdom, energy, enthusiasm, and cautious commitment to truth. Dr. "G" is proven most effective in this multi-generational setting.
Gary spent the 2018 off-season over-seas at a Mission work lead by his daughter and son-in-law, and in Jerusalem. We look forward to what he shares the "Basics of our Beliefs" on the Hill this year!
