Message From The President

Many years ago, John Lennon wrote the song "In My Life". A portion of that song was for several years, the background music to the annual Camp Sychar video played in the concluding Celebration service of each camp.
It's a fitting song, in part because of the opening line; "There are places I remember all my life..." Camp Sychar is, for a vast number of people, one of those places we will always remember. How often have we heard someone say "It was here at Sychar that I met Jesus"? "It's at Sychar where I see the people who've made a difference in my life"? "I met me wife\my husband here"? "At Sychar, I know my kids are safe and learning the Gospel"?
Sychar is one of those places that, for many, is quickly woven into the fabric of their lives. They feel a sense of comfort here, of "belonging" here, of acceptance here, of holiness here. They can step out of the constant flow of everyday life, and step back into the patterns of life God intends for all of us. It's here at Camp Sychar that we seek to hear the voice of God unimpeded by the cacophony that might usually accompany our lives. It's here, that our lives are rebooted for optimal usefulness of the Lord.
So, come to Camp Sychar! Drink from the well at the front of our grounds, and from the well of God's love and grace that never runs dry. Come to Camp Sychar! Mix who you are with who we are, that together we might all be God's people.. Come to Camp Sychar! Add friends to your life who will, time and again, show you Jesus in flesh and bone. Come to Camp Sychar and experience a place you will remember all your life!
