Ryan Bash -
Since February of 2016, Ryan Bash has served as the Lead Pastor of Brookside Church in Chillicothe, Ohio. He lives there with his wife, Crissy, with whom he has been blessed with three children: Cameron (13), Cailynn (10) and Cooper (3). Ryan previously pastored Trinity Chapel in central Ohio, while also volunteering as a firefighter with Union Township Fire Department. Before becoming a Lead Pastor, Ryan served as Pastor of Student Ministries at Faith Memorial Church (Lancaster, OH) from 2002-2007. A 2001 graduate of Asbury University, Ryan received his Master of Divinity from Wesley Biblical Seminary in 2013, and has been ordained with the CCCU since 2006. During the summer of 2013, he authored the book Follow Me: Daring to Live the Life of Full Abandon, which was made available through Teleios Press. His deep desire is to see God’s people say “yes,” wherever the call, whatever the cost.
Steve Schellin -
Senior Pastor of Southland Community Church in Greenwood, Indiana, USA. Before starting Southland, Steve served in many church staff leadership positions including Ministry Development, Young Adults, Youth and Missions. In addition, he served on the staff of a United States Congressman and as an administrator for Ohio Christian University. Schellin was also the Executive Director for the Christian Holiness Association, serving as conference director for the CHA International Convention and as editor of the magazine, The Holiness Digest. He has been a speaker for conferences, colleges and camps throughout the United States and other nations. Through EQUIP, the leadership training foundation of author John Maxwell, Steve travels around the world to teach church and business professionals Christian leadership and outreach strategies. Schellin is a graduate of Ohio Christian University. He has also completed graduate work at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and Ohio University. Steve and his wife Stephanie have been married 32 years and have two grown children: Meredith and Landon.
Dr. Chris Bounds -
Chris Bounds is Scholar in Residence/Professor of Theology/Gardner Professor for the Promotion of Holiness at Asbury University after teaching for more than a decade in the School of Theology and Ministry at Indiana Wesleyan University.
He has published articles in popular and scholarly venues; as well as contributing chapters and articles to both popular and academic books.
Chris has also co-authored three books:
Chris' passion is to equip the next generation of leaders in the church with the full Gospel of Jesus Christ for the salvation of the world.
He and his wife Tamara have two children, a daughter – Maris and a son – Morgan.
Ron Brendel -
Involved in Christian higher education and church music ministry for over 25 years. He currently is Professor of Voice at Lee University in Cleveland, TN. He had taught voice, choral music, vocal pedagogy, and directed choirs at the college level, and has served congregations in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, in a variety of ministry settings. He concertizes with his wife, soprano Chery Brendel. He holds degrees from Evangel University and Temple University (Philadelphia). He is widely performed in classical genres and has presented academic papers and presentations from New Zealand to the USA and UK.
Tim and Laura McCoy -
Tim and Laura have previously served as our Children’s Evangelists, from 2004-2014, and are excited to be back this year. Laura currently serves as the Minister of Children at Reynoldsburg UMC and Tim is on staff in the Episcopal office for The West Ohio Conference of The UMC, as the Episcopal Office Administrative Coordinator and the Event Producer for Annual Conference. Laura has previously served as the Children’s Pastor at Stonybrook UMC and as the Coordinator for Family Activities at the West Ohio Annual Conference. Tim has served as a leader in the Children’s and Middle School ministries at Reynoldsburg and as a Youth Ministry Program Leader at Stonybrook. Laura has grown up at Camp Sychar and attended most of her life…Tim has attended on and off since they married. They are excited to be a part of the legacy that Camp Sychar instills in the next generation. Tim and Laura live in Reynoldsburg, Ohio with their 2 children: Ryan (21 and a junior at The Ohio State University) and Owen (15 and a freshman at Reynoldsburg High School).
This year, Tim and Laura will take on a team approach with the elementary Children’s Program and are happy to introduce the rest of the team.
