Dear friend;
Welcome to the Camp Sychar website! It is the purpose of this site to give you pertinent information about the camp such as dates, programs and activities, but that’s only part of it. Our foremost goal is to design this site to peak your interest in what the Holy Spirit is doing through Sychar!
Sychar has always existed for the sole purpose of spreading the Biblical doctrine of holiness throughout the world. Those who founded the camp intended to establish a place where people would be sure to hear the message of scriptural holiness on a yearly basis. They dedicated themselves and the very grounds where we still meet to that purpose. Throughout the years since those faithful men and women first gathered, the reason we come together has not changed. Sychar is still dedicated to the holiness message.
Yet, we seek to not merely provide solid doctrinal teaching and preaching, but to show in practical terms what it is to live the holy life in the 21st century. It is our desire that everyone who comes to Sychar, for one day, the whole encampment or some length of time in between, will be enveloped in the practical message of holy living. Sychar seeks to answer the question “What does holy living look like in this day?” What you see before you is part of the way we are answering that question.
However, the best way to see what the Spirit is doing at Sychar is to come and be a part of it! Whether you are an older adult or a child, a single or a family, there is much at Sychar for you. Our ministries are designed to help you learn how to live the holy life, both today and throughout life. While no one would ever confuse our accommodations with a luxury camp, we believe what you receive at Sychar is far more valuable than anything a luxury hotel could ever afford. Here, you will meet the Lord, perhaps in ways you never have before. Here, you will meet people who know the intimacy of a personal relationship with our Heavenly Father and long to share in friendship with you. Here, you will meet people who, in many ways will be different from you, but will unite with you in heart and hand for the service of the Lord. Here, you can hear the Spirit speak.
