We are so excited that your youth is considering the Camp Sychar Youth Program! We know that their summer time is busy, but we are excited that he/she is interested in spending ten days in a Christian camp environment. Camp is a great faith building experience where youth can be better equipped to cope with the pressures they face in today’s culture and have their lives changed for eternity. This letter will tell you a little of what we are all about! More detailed information is attached with the 2011 APPLICATION. From this website, you may print the youth application (link is at the top of this page) and mail it to me with the registration fee.


The Camp Sychar Youth Program exists to provide opportunities for young people to have a life-changing encounter with God. Our goal is for youth to go back to their home church encouraged and strengthened in their faith. Through all of our actions and activities, we want to show youth how much God loves and cares about each of them. We want them to know that because of this love, God sent us His Son, Jesus, to offer us forgiveness for sin, purpose for our lives, hope, peace and joy.


Camp Sychar considers a safe and secure environment very important for all of our campers. Each youth is given an ID bracelet upon arrival which identifies who may be in the dorms. Parents and visitors are always welcome, and are allowed in the dorms when accompanied by staff. Our youth staff members are mature Christians and required to have written references and criminal background checks with their application. Youth staff in-services include review and updates of our Prevention of Child Abuse Policy, Bullying Prevention Policy, the General Emergency Plan, and CPR certification. There is a registered nurse on the campgrounds and we are one mile from the Knox County Hospital. The camp has a security officer on duty from 7:00pm until early morning.
