Camp Sychar's Children's Ministry program is a high-energy time where they praise God through song and dance and learn about who Jesus is and how he is relevant to their lives. After this, there is a craft time where the children participate in various art activities that relate to what they are learning and then they head outside for games and a snack. Some of these crafts can then be seen around the campground. In the past, they have made centerpieces and posters that have been displayed in the cafeteria. The children's program is offered during the morning service, as well as in the afternoon. Each children's worker is required to file an application with the Camp and pass a background check prior to the start of the camp session. Bring your children during camp, and know that not only will they be well cared for, but that they will receive God’s teachings from the Bible in a relevant way. This affords you a worry-free time to enjoy the other activities that Camp Sychar has to offer! Join us on the last Friday of camp in the Main Tabernacle as we share the songs and bible stories we have learned! We look forward to getting to know you and your child this summer!
**Ages for the children's program are going into 1st grade - 6th grade/age 12.**
2010 Children's Theme: Take It In, Live It Out
Are your kids ready for an AWESOME 10 days of fun, friends and church camp like they have never seen it before? Are they ready to take in what God's word teaches and learn how to Live It Out when the go back home? We're getting ready to show them the amazing lessons that God has given us that are just as relevant in their lives today. We are building an exciting curriculum that uses video, drama, music, games and total audience participation to show the kids that taking it in is important, but living it out is what God calls us to do!
We'll cover parables that Jesus told and see how they apply to us today. Some of the parables included are "Wise Man vs. Foolis Man", "The Good Samaritan", "The Unmerciful Servant", "The Rich Fool", "The Prodigal Son", and "The Two Sons". There is even a lesson on "The Greatest Commandment". Focusing on the importance of taking in these lessons from God's word and applying them to our lives on a daily basis, your kids will be challenged and inspired to LIVE IT OUT for the rest of the year....and the rest of their lives!!!
